TheWall0211
They will either take everyone’s money and run (including my $146) or declare bankruptcy - and that will be that. Taxes owed are immune from bankruptcy. And fraud claims can also stop a bankruptcy. But the odds of getting money or product any time soon seem bleak. bunnyman666
I haven’t had any correspondence from Monster in a long time. Nothing in my Insta feed, either. I thought they were either out of business or greatly diminished. I have not checked on them as there are so many alternative options. There are now ZERO reasons why ANYONE needs to do business with them. Kenesky, PAW and Factory Mad offer enough alternatives for what Monster offered that there is no reason to give them a penny of your hard earned money. ANY of the three businesses mentioned will deliver in a reasonable amount of time. When someone gets greedy with custom orders, it infuriates me. I have been the guy who has funded finishing delayed orders before. This is where I had decided that I was NEVER going to give 100% deposit for anything costing over $100 ever again. I never got burnt by Monster, just saw the quality go way down and had ordering and delivery hassles. I hope everyone gets relief, but it is unlikely if they enter bankruptcy protection. Class action suits generally net very little for class members, and the class is likely not big enough for a law firm to take on. Lawyers on this forum can confirm this. I will stand corrected if it could be done.
Chrisblu32
From my own experiences with Monster hockey, I've had one good one and one recent bad one. The first time around I bought some Hal straps and that experience was good. I've been using the same set for about two years now. But more recently, in June I tried ordering the Medusa straps for the backplate of your mask. I received an order confirmation email, an email saying the label was printed, and that was it. The post office hasn't received anything yet. I've sent a couple emails but haven't gotten any replies yet.

We've been posting for over a year to stop buying from this company.

I haven't had to buy anything from them in two years so I wasn't aware they were having issues. The saddest thing is, I had EXCELLENT experiences with Jeff, at first. Then things just slowly got weird. The turning point was when they were having a “flash sale” on stuff they did not even have yet! It took forever to get things that should be in stock. Then the quality kept going down hill to the point of their stuff being unusable! I never went past toe ties and K-straps, I admit. I always had newish pads that were not candidates for ILP modifications. Now that Kenesky has a MUCH improved professor-ish strap and bloody near EVERYONE makes a elastic toe tie (Pro Laces makes the next evolution of elastic toe ties), there is ZERO reason to go back; however- if you haven’t read all the stories and you had a previously good or even excellent experience, you would have no reason to seek product elsewhere. I do hope you get your money back.

If anyone has any recommendations let me know. I just got a used Bauer nme 8 and the straps were fraying.

chile57
Pro's Choice also offers a snap-on variation in either white or black. I've had my oldest PC since 2008 and the straps show no sign of fraying or losing elasticity. Happy hunting. https://progoaliemask.com/quick-snap/

bunnyman666
@Chrisblu32 ANYTHING is better than dealing with Monster hockey. Everyone has presented fantastic alternatives. I do sincerely hope you get your money back. I am actually thinking of designing my alternative to the typical goalie jock. The one thing Monster did do was make me rethink the jock design for goalies.
Chrisblu32
@bunnyman666 Thank you, everyone has presented great options. I think the Pro's Choice one caught my eye the most. I'm excited to hopefully see your design in the future and I wish you luck along the process

I'm excited to hopefully see your design in the future and I wish you luck along the process The hardest thing will be farming out the sewing process, that is, until I get a good sewing machine that has a walking foot; then I have to learn how to use the bloody thing LOL Building tooling and test jigs is not as easy as it once was, judging by no finished goalie stick or goalie mask I was hoping to test at this time. Doesn’t help that I am busy as hell with my full-time job and part time jobs... I hope to get something off of the bar mats and correct my failed tooling attempts, even if it IS me farming out my jock design... The biggest shame was that Jeff was an innovator and started out changing the game. His influence does live on, but I wish the influx of custom orders (and thusly all the cash) did not tempt him to become the contemptible Monster he became. An important thing to remember is something along the lines of what I believe Thomas Edison said. Essentially you'll never fail, you'll just find a bunch of ways not to make a goalie jock haha

Happy hunting. https://progoaliemask.com/quick-snap/ My ideal harness would be Pro's Choice elastic with Outsider's jenpro slip through tip design. Dom's harness is far and away better than any other harness I have ever worn. The elastic is very firm. Holds the mask in place very nicely. The Cubberly harness that I used with my old Eddy mask prior to my Pro's Choice was nice too. I dislike the snap buttons that Dom uses, mine is sewn, which is also annoying to have to do. The harness that came with my Protechsport is garbage. It was way too soft/flexible. The elastic used for the Outsider straps, which I am using on my Protechsport right now, is a slight improvement but still nowhere near as good as the Pro's Choice stuff. Brian's smart strapping predates him. All he did was say "hey, I can use "military grade shock cord" and upcharge a lot." And some of his stuff was just flat out stupid, IMO.

His jock was literally a problem in search of a solution, I will say. For me, his elastic “professor” strap was his beat thing, and it became the worst quality thing he carried. The original stuff was pretty good stuff.
