So I picked up this Ryan Miller pro-return Chesty.  Miller had removed the elbow floaters, so Mike Howard was kind enough to build a new set for me.  Apparently the elbows are an old Vaughn style.  Additionally, this chesty took Kenesky three days to build.  A normal build is six to eight hours.

Neat find.  I remember reading about his full custom Vaughn C/As in the GSBB days, but never saw pics until Kenesky put this one on their IG. 

I wonder why Miller decided to try out Kenesky - did Vaughn decide it wasn't worth their time anymore? Is he in one of these now, or did he find something else?

You should make a short review / presentation of this one, there are a lot of special details already in the picture. The belly area looks interesting? And the shoulder floaters, NHL spec?

When I received the chesty it was covered in Millers personal notes for changes to be made.  I think Kenesky did build a him a second one, but I do not know what he is using.

I can do this.  I'll write something up.  The chesty does have the KW approval on it, so yes on NHL spec.  I played in it for the first time on Sunday night and I really liked it.

Picked this set up for $750

I’ve been wanting to try out a JRZ set for a good while and after yesterday’s ice time with them I’m a huge fan of every piece except the glove. There’s a very high chance I order one of these sets after the new gloves are released

The glove I received is a game ready but it’s still pretty stiff (think of it like a traditional game ready ccm). It’s labeled as a 590/60° style glove but feels very very different from its ccm counterparts. The ice time I got yesterday was in net against 14u aa kids and just about every shot to the palm was a stinger. However it is a terrific puck playing glove and not awful to catch with (so long as you get the puck in the pocket) even though I’m not really a fan of 590s. I’m waiting for supreme style or 580 jrz gloves to be released before I order.

Does it feel and catch like your Vapor glove? I never owned a CCM.

It feels nothing like my bauer glove. The bauer is a Reimer pro return 580.

33+1. For reference I wear a medium 2s pro and 34+1.5 warrior and the fit is spot on.

New gnetik 4 Halak inspired set. The Goalie Crease and Brian’s killed it! 36+1.5, stock breaks, blue line flag embroidery, full primo skate landing area, 1” deeper anchor t with skate lace and pro palm, primo on high wear area on blocker fingers. Bummed they got cut my 2nd game wearing them tho.

Unlikely. I’ll probably be going for a custom design with neutral colors. I have something pretty neat mocked up but there’s no point in showing it if I don’t know what’s going to happen yet

It just happens . But looks to me it is not deep, more scratch than cut. Will be easy to repair - I would use very thin brush and cover it carefuly with black paint used for leather. Personaly done that many times on black equipment, (it is way harder to make it invisible on white).  This is not on slide area, that is good.

Nice, I worked for Sherm when he was building up Goalie Monkey.  Good dude.

We had 2 cubicle units in the back of the original Hockey Monkey store and maybe 1000 sqft of warehouse space.  4 total guys

Mike was great, especially to a retail customer who probably asked for more customization than is typical.  Cannot wait to get the set, it’s going to be such a better fit for me than my X28s/XLTs.
