Seems like it. it’s definitely one of the more important pieces of equipment especially if you’re a shorter goalie. More likely to get hit in the head/sternum area from higher level players than your stomach and chest, just from my experience Edited July 27, 2018 by southpawtendy48

seagoal
New Vaughn VE8 gear ordered last week, except the glove is a V6 2200 more or less with the color scheme shown on the VE8 glove. First time in 22 years I'm leaving Boston colors on my gear. I was recently wooed by powder blue and had to give in . Super excited to have two separate sets.
1C5
Got these pants on the way. Not sure how they'll fit as they are XL and I'm in Vaughn large now. But also I do see lots of the NHL pro returns pants seem to be XL even though the goalies are pretty skinny so they might work. Will update once I try them. And just as a side note, I had an old pair of pro return Easton pants that I used for a decade. No stingers in 10 years. Last year I bought new spec Vaughns as I wanted a color change, and now get the odd stinger. So hopefully these older pants will give me more protection than my new Vaughns... Westcoast Tender
Got this for $100. Never had a Reebok/CCM Blocker before (always Vaughn). Seems really solid. Wishing I ordered two now that GM has them back up to $199. Although I suppose $199 is still good for pro-level Blocker. BTW if anyone needs new pads and doesn’t mind old stock GM has XLT pros for $499...I just got new Eflexs, otherwise, I’d probably be buying some. wox33
Just can’t get used to anything other than a 590 style break so hopefully switching from the 1S to the 1X fixes that. Picked this one up for a pretty good deal on sideline.

I knew I didn't like the 600 but I figured I would try the 1S but it felt exactly the same to me. I don't know what the exact degree breaks are on the two gloves but I'd say 1S is 70-75 and the 1X is 60 since it feels exactly like every Reebok/CCM 590 I've owned.
Mroy31
Oneiric Genesis base layer pants. Actually bought them as a pre order discount back in like February or March, finally came in today. Haven't gotten to use them yet. Grippy logo on the knees, velcro for socks, cut resistant material at the calf, padding on the back of the calf and the thigh.
IPv6Freely
I just bought another used NME8 today, but that's hardly noteworthy. I guess the only other thing I've bought recently is my Monster Junk Trunk. It's fantastic. Otherwise, my gear is all custom and the mask is the only thing you can buy retail so there's not much I even bother looking at in the store anymore. I’ve had mine for a while now, I guess I got it from the initial batch before they had their production delay. It’s an absolutely outstanding product. Mine is very well constructed and the grippy parts and Velcro work really well. I don’t wear them much now because I’ve stopped wearing socks so I don’t need the Velcro. Just been wearing thin UA leggings, but I will prob switch back to the Oneiric and socks in winter for the colder rinks.

BadAngle41
So this arrived today. I can't claim that it isn't an homage to one they've made before... but it is the only one in this color scheme with my name. Also while some may feel the name tag disrupts the flow of argyle... it should help out when subbing in for a team and everyone asks "Hey, you filling in tonight?" but fails to ask any further questions... like my name... just hang this up in my stall. THANK YOU @Chenner29!!! PS... I'm not trying to stay anonymous by editing out my head... I'm doing for your benefit. Wouldn't want your wives/girlfriends to start thinking "Why isn't my goalie this handsome?"

southpawtendy48
Might be my favorite piece of equipment interestingly enough, one skate with it so far and I love it. 1st 3 pics features the front face graphics. next 2 pics feature the blocking angle and lacing. after that is the finger protection. asked for no finger protector that is stock on the LT98. and finally, the wrist strap

Dennis over at Factory Mad has my gear at the moment and one thing I've tasked him with is improving the feel of my current Koho 589. Getting a back of hand pad and replacing foams... maybe even intermediate palm (although doubtful.) If it doesn't work out as well as I'd hoped... I may be asking you for some more info on yours.Good looking piece... even if it is on the wrong hand.
